Keeping track of computer users by looking at their shoes

The problem with big, table-sized touchscreen computers is that they have an awful time telling who’s doing what – if you and someone else are both touching it and doing stuff at the same time, you’re likely to confuse the poor thing.  Which is why a couple of researchers developed a system to track people’s shoes.  While there are some problems with the system, and it’s still not 100% accurate at determining who’s doing what, it’s a very interesting take on how to solve that particular problem.
